The II International conference “Sea Tourism”
The II International conference “St. Petersburg – the Sea Capital of RUSSIA. Sea Tourism” will take place on July 8-9, 2010 in St. Petersburg within the framework of the UNITED RUSSIA Party project “St. Petersburg – the Sea Capital of RUSSIA”. The main topics for discussion at the event will be issues on development of a sea and river cruise branch, relevant infrastructure, civil shipbuilding, ferry connection and yacht and boat tourism.
General state of the world economy had a ripple effect almost on all branches of business and industry. Sea tourism sphere is not an exception – besides decrease in volume of provided services the branch faced defaults in development of infrastructure, civil shipbuilding, personnel trainings. Above mentioned problems demand complex and all-round discussion, governmental support and active cooperation and collaboration of business structures.
Russian Federation possesses colossal cultural and historical heritage as well as all the recourses required for creation of tourism and recreation areas of world standards at coastal territories. To define facilities for the most sufficient application of Russian market potential and to solve revealed sea and river tourism branch problems conference “St. Petersburg – the Sea Capital of RUSSIA. Sea Tourism" will raise the following problems:
- legislative base for development of cruise and yacht tourism in Russia;
- measures for stimulating the demand of entry tourists on Russian tourism product;
- formation of Federal Target program on development of sea and river tourism in the Russian federation;
- ways of attracting investments into cruise infrastructure construction and development;
- issues on civil shipbuilding and ways for country cruise fleet renovation;
- state-private partnership in relevant infrastructure formation and development in all Russian regions;
- terms of competitive capacity of Russian tour operators.
Conference is held under support of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, Ministry of Sport, tourism and youth policy of the Russian Federation, Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation, Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, administrations of the regions of the Russian Federation, “Associate shipbuilding corporation, LTD”. Representatives of sea and river ports, cruise fleet owners, largest tour operators, investment companies, representatives of Councils of Italy, Spain, Germany, Greece, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Bulgaria, Turkey, Kazakhstan and other countries are invited.
II International conference “St. Petersburg – the Sea Capital of RUSSIA. Sea Tourism" will result into Draft Resolution that will include proposals of the event participants on improvement of the situation at the tourism service market and modernization of the current infrastructure complex in Russia.
