On VisitNovgorod.ru website you can book guided tours, excursions, accommodation and interactive programs. There are now English, German, Finnish and French versions of the website. In December 2011 Spanish and Chinese ones will be launched.

Travel tips by Tourism Development Centre “Red Izba”:
1. Before you set off please look through Veliky Novgorod tourist attractions and deals on the information website VisitNovgorod.ru, and use online reservation system to book a tour or a hotel. Feel free to ask questions or share your impressions in guestbook.
2. Download a free e-application “Mobile guide to Veliky Novgorod” on VisitNovgorod.ru website.
3. Stop at the tourist information area near the Saint-Petersburg-side city entrance. There you will find several information boards with a city map, important information about the city and events on them.

4. Use the volunteer services during the big city and national celebrations. Volunteers can be met at the Moscow and Saint-Petersburg-side city entrances and in the historic centre of Veliky Novgorod.
5. Get free information, city map and city guide at the Red Izba Tourism Development Centre Red or Red Izba Tourist Information Office.

6. Learn more about the origins of Russia by taking a motor ship trip to Rurik’s hill fort (IX century) – the place where Russian statehood was born.

7. Set forth on a trip back through time from the XXI century to the Middle Age, see the city's past that has been congealed in the cultural layer and watch the "performance of the Theater of Time while visiting Troitsky Excavation Site.
8. Meet novgorodian posadnik* Sbyslav Yakunovich and characters of ancient novgorodian legends during the performance tour. Take part in staged collecting of coins from the Hansa Fountain on Yaroslav’s Courtyard. (* governor of medieval Russian city-state, appointed by prince or elected by citizens).

9. See the World’s best tourism films and meet the directors on the Third International Tourism and Culture Film Festival “Kitovras-2012” in autumn 2012.
10. Celebrate the 1150 years anniversary of the Russian statehood in Veliky Novgorod - the Birthplace of Russia on 21-23 September, 2012..
